CARIA. Knidos. Circa 465-449 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 6.20 g, 7 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Diademed head of Aphrodite to right, wearing pearl necklace and with her hair falling down the back of her neck and tied at the end; all within incuse square. Cahn 82 (V39/R56). SNG Copenhagen 236 (same dies). Beautiful old collection toning. The obverse somewhat off center and with minor die rust on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
